• Dylan Lupton returned to the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Friday night at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway since his last race in November of 2019. He started 34th in the No. 17 Fatal Motorsports Ford F-150 based on NASCAR’s qualifying formula. It took some time for him to get the feel of the truck again and he fought very loose truck early in the race. He was 21st when Stage One ended on lap 30. He pitted for four tires, fuel and a wedge adjustment.
• As the second stage began, Lupton was 18th after a fast pit stop by the DGR-Crosley team. Without a caution in those 28 laps, he still fought a loose condition. He finished Stage Two 19th on lap 60. He brought the Ford F-150 to pit road again for new tires and more adjustments.
• He was 16th when the final stage began on lap 68. He had fallen back to 21st on lap 91, but by lap 100 he had worked his way back up to 16th and was not about to give up there. He was getting the feel of the truck and the adjustments throughout the race helped the handling. Lupton kept gaining positions and crossed the finish line in 14th place.
Lupton on Las Vegas: “It was a solid night for our DGR-Crosley FATAL Motorsports team. I can’t thank Marcus (Richmond, crew chief) and the guys enough for their hard work on Friday night. We were really loose in Stage One and Stage Two, but Marcus kept making adjustments and we made some really good gains during Stage Three but we ran out of laps to finish better.
“Overall though, I’m excited about the rest of my races with DGR-Crosley. This is a finish we can build on for Texas and compete for a top 10 there.”
